What financial support is available?

We know COVID lockdowns may be a time of increased financial pressure on some of our students/ākonga and whānau, particularly where incomes are negatively impacted.

If you normally receive a student allowance and/or student loan living cost payments, you’ll continue to receive these while you keep studying. For more information about student allowances and living cost payments, or to apply, visit StudyLink or phone 0800 88 99 00. 

Toi Ohomai also offers further support to students/ākonga who are experiencing financial difficulties as a result of COVID-19. You’ll need to personally apply for the Government Hardship Fund for Tertiary Learners using this form and conditions do apply. Further information about the Fund is available on the TEC website.

We have a limited amount of devices available for those in need, contact your tutor in the first instance if you need device support.
