FAQs for New Zealand Diploma in Legal Executive (Level 6)
Do you offer any job placement?
This service is not offered in this programme. However, we encourage our Legal Studies ākonga | students to volunteer in industry and will discuss this in tutorials. Membership to Legal Institutes is also a possibility and may yield employment opportunities. We also ‘advertise’ vacancies when legal firms approach us.
Can I enrol and pay my fees in instalments?
No. We can't enrol you until we receive full payment of tuition fees in line with your offer of place.
How many courses can I study each semester?
You can choose to enrol part time in one or two courses (often while working), or alternatively, you can choose to enrol full time and study four courses per semester.
How long does it take to complete each course?
One semester. Each semester is usually 17 weeks duration. They consist of 15 weeks of teaching/learning with a two-week study break mid-semester.
What is the workload like?
We estimate that each course “paper” requires a time investment of 10 hours per week. This means, for example, if you study three courses per semester, that will add approximately 30 hours to your existing life schedule.
When are the tutorials held?
Each semester is a little different, but tutorials are held on weekdays. We offer day and evening timeslots on a weekly/fortnightly basis.
