Childcare Services

While you’re studying or working, you want to be sure your children are in safe, capable hands.

We have an excellent early childhood education (ECE) centre on site at our Windermere Campus in Tauranga. The centre is open to children from throughout the community as well as those of Toi Ohomai students and staff.

There are also a number of ECE centres close to Mokoia Campus in Rotorua, and our Taupō campus. Childcare options may also be available at or near our other campuses throughout the region. Please contact us for more information.

Childcare Centre, Windermere Campus

The Childcare Centre at Windermere Campus in Tauranga is located on a quiet cul de sac along the northern boundary of campus, making drop-off and pick-up easy for you to navigate on busy days.

Children aged 6 months to 6 years are eligible for enrolment, and they enjoy separate, age-appropriate areas to accommodate their individual learning and development needs.

All of our kaiako (teachers) are qualified in early childhood education. They are passionate about providing the learning opportunities and support that will challenge and extend your child’s interests and strengths.

Come in for a look. You’ll be impressed with the helpful, caring staff and the vibrant, fun rooms and playgrounds built to enrich the learning experiences of your tamariki.

Atawhai Childcare, Mokoia Campus

Atawhai Childcare is located at the heart of the Mokoia campus offering quality childcare to students and the wider community. Toi Ohomai students are offered a discount.

Our Centre is separated into two spaces; under 2’s - for newborns to approximately 2 years old, and over 2's - for children 2 to 6 years. We believe that children thrive in an environment which values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.

Our aim is to provide opportunities for every child to have the freedom to learn and grow. Come in and check us out, you’ll love what you see.
