Every business needs strong, capable managers. At Toi Ohomai you can advance your study in management with our suite of applied, postgraduate management courses.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Management is designed for students wanting to advance their scholarly research and master their strategic management capabilities. It will build on previous undergraduate degree, graduate and post graduate studies and strengthen career aspirations. The advanced standard at which the graduate will operate includes the ability to articulate theory and practice within a management scope.

Graduates will engage in independent study demonstrating an advanced level of knowledge, employing discourse analysis and critical enquiry in a relevant management context.

Student Loans and Allowances

This course meets the requirements for student allowance and student loan applications through StudyLink.

  • A student loan helps to pay for your course fees (the compulsory fees), study materials e.g. books, equipment, and living costs. You'll have to pay this money back.
  • A student allowance is a weekly payment that can help with your living expenses while you're studying. You don't have to pay the money back.

Course Entry Information

Entry Criteria

  • Academic transcripts of tertiary-level qualifications achieved by the applicant.
  • A Graduate Diploma at Level 7: Graduate Diploma in business or management OR
  • An undergraduate degree: Bachelor in business or management or endorsement area or equivalent.

Special entry - Applicants who do not meet the academic requirements may be given special admission if they can provide evidence that they are capable of achieving the programme outcomes through a combination of academic and practical or professional experience.

You’ll be invited to an information meeting. This is your opportunity to find out more about the course content and to make sure you're on the most appropriate course for your career aspirations and current level of experience.

Standard Entry Criteria

Admission, entry, selection, and enrolment into programmes will be in accordance with the Academic Regulations and/or, where approved, specific programme regulations.

English Language Requirements

IELTS Academic score of 6.5 with no band score lower than 6 or completed New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 5 with the Academic Endorsement or meets a relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined by NZQA.
