Mike teaches across a range of subjects, including coaching, sports psychology, sport development, and work-integrated learning. He brings extensive industry knowledge to his teaching, drawing on his experience as both a national team coach and a high-performance manager.
With a strong background in sport and education, Mike has held governance roles at both regional and national levels, contributing to the development and strategic direction of sport organisations. Before moving into tertiary education, he spent 10 years teaching Health and Physical Education in secondary schools, where he developed a passion for supporting learners to achieve their goals.
Mike has also worked in coaching education, helping coaches build the skills and knowledge needed to support athlete development and performance. His combination of teaching, leadership, and industry experience provides students with valuable real-world insights into the sport and recreation sector.
