Earn as You Learn is a career pathway programme that combines paid employment with study towards the New Zealand Certificate in Manufacturing (Level 3).
From February 2027, learners spend three days a week in paid employment and two days a week studying towards their qualification at the Toi Ohomai Tauranga campus.
During the year-long programme, ākonga gain practical skills and experience with leading local employers by rotating through three local manufacturing businesses.
Partnering companies providing work experience include Bakels Edible Oils, Bluelab, Oasis Engineering, Syos Aerospace and Trimax Mowing Systems.
