Course Overview

Do you love baking? Then this one-year baking course is perfect for you. You'll learn how to make delicious danishes, pastries, cakes and desserts from scratch. We'll also teach you how to make homemade bread, savoury treats, and biscuits. By the end of the course, you'll be ready for your first job in the baking industry.

This certificate will also help you develop some really useful skills for work. You'll learn how to be organised in the kitchen, how to provide great customer service, and how to work well in a team. We will give you the chance to team up with other students to plan and bake for campus events.

Our expert teachers will guide you through using baking and patisserie equipment in our professional on-campus kitchen. They'll also teach you all about food safety and how baking is done for sale in shops and businesses.

Baking is on New Zealand's skill shortage list! That means there are lots of opportunities in this growing industry.
