Course Overview

Toi Ohomai is in the process of developing this exciting new course to meet the growing demand for skilled workers in New Zealand's manufacturing sector. You'll gain essential skills and knowledge to work as an operator or trade assistant in a manufacturing plant or workshop.

Whether you’re already working in manufacturing or looking to get started, this flexible course is designed for you. 

You'll learn to:

  • Contribute to a safe working environment
  • Map inter-dependencies between processes in a manufacturing operation
  • Maintain and control a manufacturing process to ensure product quality
  • Carry out operational tasks within a manufacturing process to meet organisational requirements

You also have the opportunity to further specialise in the Productivity Improvement stand that will give you experience in applying productivity improvement principles and responsibilities to manufacturing tasks improving values and outcomes.

Upon successfully completing the requirements you'll receive the award of:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Manufacturing (Level 3)

Entry Criteria

There is open entry to this course although you must demonstrate a reasonable likelihood of success.

Other Considerations

In addition, applicants must also meet the following programme-specific requirements: 

  • To meet legal and health requirements, candidates must be physically able to carry out the practical components of the course.

English Language Requirements

Level 3 certificate IELTS General or Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5 or completed New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 3 with an endorsement of either General, Workplace or Academic, or meets a relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined by NZQA.
