Matt teaches Research Protocols and leads the dissertation programme within the Master of Applied Professional Studies. His work focuses on supporting postgraduate students to conduct rigorous research and develop the skills needed to contribute meaningful knowledge in their fields.
Matt holds a PhD in Sport Science from Massey University, where he developed novel performance analysis tools for sport. He also completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at East Stroudsburg University in the United States.
He values the role of research in guiding informed decision-making and enabling evidence-based practice. His teaching approach prioritises practical application, critical thinking and scholarly integrity.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys venturing deep into the mountains and exploring remote wilderness areas.
