Dr Pim Borren

Dr Pim Borren is the Chief Executive of Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, bringing extensive leadership experience across the public sector and vocational education. He has previously held Chief Executive roles at Toi Ohomai legacy institute, Waiariki Institute of Technology, as well as Southbank Institute of Technology, Masterton District Council, OSPRI, and the Otago Regional Council.

With more than 20 years’ experience as an economist, including roles as Chief Economist for the Cook Islands Government and Principal Economist for Taituarā, Pim brings strong strategic and analytical capability to the role. Before joining Toi Ohomai, he worked as a Senior Advisor with BDO’s Project and Infrastructure Team.

Pim holds a PhD in Economics and is a member of the Institute of Directors. Returning to the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato is a homecoming for him, and he is focused on strengthening Toi Ohomai’s community and employer connections while supporting sustainable growth.

Outside of work, Pim enjoys golf, reading, and spending time with his family.
