Toi Ohomai makeup artists share the trends and some pro tips to help you get ready for the School Ball with these Makeup Trends!
Are you ready to glam up for your school ball? Toi Ohomai’s makeup artist tutors share the inside scoop on the hottest makeup trends that will make you the star of the night. Including the latest looks and some pro tips.
The main looks trending in ball makeups this year are being described as:
- The no make-up, make-up look
- Clean Girl aesthetics and
- Glass skin
To help you achieve this look you need to consider
- Your natural skin tones with a fresh and effortless look. Start with a lightweight foundation or tinted moisturizer to even out your skin tone. Enhance your features with a touch of mascara, a hint of blush, and a natural-looking lip balm. Remember, the goal is no make-up, make-up look
- The clean girl aesthetic: This includes high shine lips, dewy cheeks, highlighter for radiant natural look glow, finish with natural looking false lashes
- Smokey liner: Winged liner applied with eye shadow or eye liner pencil smudged out for a smokier look, perfect in both brown and black
- Mocha neutrals and nudes – These fresh natural tones, matte and/or metallic can be used. Intensity can be customised to your preference
- A Touch of Sparkle: ball make-up is also a time to add some sparkle and shimmer to your look! Apply a touch of glitter eyeshadow to the inner corners of your eyes or create a subtle glitter liner along your lash line.
Pro Tips for 2023
- KEEP IT ON - no one wants to bother with touch ups throughout the night, try a setting powder - light application will not ruin your glow. Also, consider a light setting spray and using long wearing products
- MATCHY MATCHY - If getting a spray tan, ensure your current foundation matches your new faux sun kissed glow
Remember, the most important thing is to feel confident and comfortable in your own skin. Makeup is a fun way to express your personality and enhance your natural beauty, so don't be afraid to experiment and try new things. Practice your look before the big night to ensure you're comfortable with your chosen style.
Lastly, have a blast at the school ball!
