Koren Hopoi

Koren Hopoi is the Executive Director - Ākonga Success at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology. 

With a career spanning teaching, school leadership, and tertiary education, she brings deep experience in learner‑centred practice and educational leadership. 

Koren began her career as a Health and PE teacher before moving into senior leadership roles, including Deputy Principal of Onewhero Area School and Principal of Coromandel Area School. 

Over the past two years, she has led in the tertiary sector with a focus on strengthening learner support, equity, and engagement. Koren is committed to ensuring that all ākonga are empowered to thrive through responsive systems, inclusive practices, and a strong focus on learner success.
