Workshop 6: One Chance at a First Impression? Hononga Hauora – Healthy Connections
First impressions matter - they shape how safe, seen and supported people feel. This interactive workshop explores the key role coaches, teachers and leaders play in creating meaningful connections from the get-go.
Guided by four core pillars: energy, environment, participant experience and empathy, attendees will dive into scenarios, reflect on their practice, and learn how to set the tone for inclusive, people-first spaces.
You’ll leave with fresh ideas and an understanding of how to build hononga hauora in any setting.
Whether you're leading rangatahi, teams, or communities, this session will challenge and energise you to lead with intention.
If there’s only one chance at a first impression, make it powerful, purposeful and lasting.
