Ruth is a Senior Academic Staff Member in the Master of Applied Professional Studies (MAPS) team, teaching in the Adult Teaching and Mentoring and Leadership strands.
She has a background in secondary school English teaching, EdTech, information literacy, embedding literacy into programme teaching, and in supporting learners with specific learning difficulties.
Ruth is a graduate of the MAPS programme, and prior to teaching on it, was a learning advisor (Learning Facilitator) at Toi Ohomai.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Teaching, Postgraduate Diploma in Literacy in Education, Diploma of Information and Communication in Education, a Master of Applied Professional Studies, Adult Teaching and is a SPELD qualified practitioner.
Her research interests include GenAI in education, international education, and all aspects of teaching and learning.
